What an emotional breakthrough

This weekend I finally was able to be brave enough to take my "before" pictures. I've already lost 17 lbs, but I just couldn't get up the courage to do it any other time. So, I stripped down to my undergarments and had my husband take 2 side views, one front and one back picture. My heart ached when I looked at them. But, in the same way, I know if I was brave enough to take those pictures, it means I'm brave enough to fight against the fat this time.
I'll never understand how come I look better in a mirror than in a photograph...but wow...that was a harsh reality. I will be taking more pictures when I get to 299, which is 37 lbs away.

Good for you!! You will be happy that you have those pictures to show your progress over time. Like you said, the picture shows what you don't really see in the mirror. Good luck on your journey to health and fitness!! Feel free to add me as a friend if you like.0

I know your pain. I took mine dressed. Still don't have the guts to try it in my underwear. Add me if you want a friend. I have 100 pounds to go, and we can support each other!0

Yes...be brave and continue your fight. You have a great attitude about it which is a start. I also never look good in pictures. I see so many people that do but no matter what size I am or how young I used to be the pictures are always bad.0 -
Good for you, that is awesome! Keep it up!0

So wish I would have had the forethought to do this... good for you! I didn't take a picture until I had already lost almost 20 of my 45, so close to halfway! Kinda disappointed in that, but not planning on gaining it back just to take a picture!!!! LOL!0

I didn't take a before picture. Congrats to you for having the courage to do that! You'll be glad you did it. I notice a difference in my body, but it would be nice to have a before picture to really see the changes better.0

I can totally understand, the before pictures are harsh reality. I had a similar experience. I just took my before picture and it was a real wake up call. I guess I just wasn't paying attention to what was in the mirror. I am newly determined and I am going to make it through this journey and come out a thinner, healthier person and so will you. You can do this!0

I'm so proud of you! I know its never easy to face things like that... denial just seems so much easier but the only way to solve a problem is to face it head on that takes alot of courage! i felt the same fear when i stepped on the scale for the first time in a really long time 2 weeks ago. Good for you tho!0

You have a lot of courage. I still am not sure I have the courage to do that. Maybe, if you could do it than I can too. It is so hard to accept the reality, even though you are trying to change it. Especially when you know that you haven't "always" been this way.0
