I have always been a "big" girl. Lost some weight in college, then gained about 20 pounds in 3 months after college and then met now husband. Got married had 2 kids and now 213. So over all I have gained 70 pounds since meeting husband. I want to lose about 80 pounds by next summer. I know this is going to take dedication and heart. I don't have a lot of options as to go to a gym but I can start eating healthy. I know I work out better at one but I don't have them. I will be starting off with the 30 day shred and if I can accomplish that go to p90x which I both have. I found this board in hopes of finding support, people who understand and possibly some mommies that have had children! Thank you ladies and gentlemen!

Good luck on your journey! Feel free to add me for support if you want! I started by learning to drink the proper amount of water per day. Then I added in my diet plan. Then I focused more on getting a balanced amount of nutrients. Then I joined the gym, and have put specific workout times on my calendar, and when I can't go to the gym I take my dog out and do strength training instead.

I understand completely how you feel. I am married and have a 8 yr old daughter with a form of autism. Joining a gym is not an option for me. I joined this site with my wife because she was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and I wanted to support her. I found it to be a big help having your spouse joining in the weight loss battle. We are trying our best to allow our daughter to eat the things she likes, while we stick to a strict calorie intake. We started the 30 day shred together , good sweat, and keep each other going. Just remember, it will be an up and down battle, don't scale watch , and make sure to take measurements because while doing the shred , you will start to gain muscle and that weighs more. Finally , make sure to drink lots of water , it will curb your appetite and keep you from cramping while working out.

Sure you have mine, im in the same boat.. I have a ton of kids and gained much with them. My last one was the least of my weights gaining only 40lbs with her.. She is 18 months and i now and still working on it.. I lost 20 and gained it back.. My husband is a size 28 waist and has stayed this weight since we married 19 yrs ago.. I know about the gym options, but we have a class three times a week at my workplace which is also a high school. So far lost this 4 lbs and found Zumba.. its so fun... You will lose lots on that if you can find a class near you... if you don't have one, watch some Youtube.com videos and search "zumba".. Add me as a friend and we can encourage each other... Aloha, Miriam
