Hello my name is Ashley. I am from Atlanta. I joined my fitness pal to try and hold myself accountable. I would love to lose weight. But I am trying to start my journey by simply keeping track of what and how much food I consume. I recently got a desk job and have noticed the pounds are sticking to me a bit more than they used to. It is time to stop making excuses and do something to change my lifestyle. I recently spent time with my entire extended family and they ( as usual) pointed out that not only (I have gained weight.) but also berated my clothing and fashion sense. This is nothing new. But for some reason it bothered me more than usual. I am going to make positive choices and see results. It wont be easy but it will be worth it.

Hey that is amazing! I am in Atlanta too Ashley, and It can definitely be difficult with so much going on in the city. I am sorry to hear about your family *angry baby face* but I am here to tell you that you can do it! I went into severe depression when I realized one day what my body had done over time... then I realized that with out the first step the journey would never begin and every day I procrastinated was one more day that I could have had done and under my belt. *High Five*.. you got this.

I'm from Atlanta too! I would try to start moving more. All small movements count. Everyday I make myself climb the stairs wherever I'm going(Marta Train, School, etc.) and when i'm driving I park in the back of the lot. You've got this though so don't worry just stick to it.

Hi Ashley, it sounds like you are starting your journey off right. One thing to keep in mind, do no listen to other people when they make comments. Before I started my weight loss, people were saying I gained a lot of weight and that I should be careful. After I started eating right and exercising, some people were saying I was obsessed and needed to stop, so people will always have something to say but never take it to heart. Just know that you are making the decisions that are right for you and only you know what is right for you. Good luck on your journey and please feel free to add me if you would like some new fitness friends :)

Those who really care about you will share your desire to get and stay healthy. They're the only ones who matter.
