Super easy French style apple tart (1/4 tart 265 calories)
Great alternative to apple pie for much less calories! Sorry but this isn't low carb or a 'skinny' recipe, although I guess you could use stevia or splenda instead of sugar.
1 prepared pie crust (I used pillsbury)
2 large apples (I used pink ladies)
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp cinnamon (or more, to taste)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons apricot preserves
Spread the applesauce at the bottom of the pie crust. Peel and slice the apples, toss them in the sugar and cinnamon mixture, then lay on top of the crust. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes. Microwave the preserves for 30 seconds and brush the top of the tart (crust and all). Eat warm or cold, I prefer cold!
Makes 4 servings - 266 calories, 46g carb, 8g fat, 2g protein (I had some leftover apples and sugar/cinnamon so had to guess a little bit).
