Artificial Sweeteners

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone used to use artificial sweeteners and then stopped and noticed a change in how they feel? I am a type 1 diabetic and I have used equal and splenda for years. I've been having huge issues with pain and inflammation in various joints. I did need hip surgery for FAI but struggling with the recovery due to chronic inflammation. I started a anti inflammatory diet, taking some natural supplements and I did some research and was shocked about what I read regarding artificial sweeteners. I stopped cold turkey (just two days ago) and I already notice a huge difference in my pain levels.

I'd suggest some salmon oil capsules or eating salmon. Aspartame are amino acids0

I'm already eating wild caught Alaskan salmon and I take fish oil supplements too.0

I stopped for two months just to see if any of my pains ( carpel tunnel, shoulder, elbow, hips, and knees) would go away. Answer no and gained 10 lbs. Started using my splenda/artificial sweeteners again. Though weight loss has helped some.0

That's great!
Also while eating omega threes, I've heard it's good to lower excessive intake of omega 6.0 -
Yes, I've heard this too. I'm watching those levels. Making sure to use cold pressed extra virgin olive oil and expeller pressed canola oil, eating avocados, raw almonds and other nuts, foods high in antioxidants. I already follow a "no white" rule with my food and I don't eat processed foods or fast foods. I started taking turmeric and ginger supplements. So with all this and stopping the artificial sweeteners something is working.0

Yes, I'm using Stevia. I'm just avoiding anything artificial like the plague to see if it helps with the joint pain.0 -
The extract from the leaves of stevia has numerous benefits: it's natural, non-toxic, has a negligible effect on blood glucose, is an effective antioxidant, there are no known allergies to stevia.
You should try antiinflammatory foods: salmon, sardines, herring, nuts, soy, canola oil, olive oil, fresh fruits and vegetables (these are rich in antioxidants; oranges, berries, melon, carrots, pepper, tomatoes, broccoli), whole grain products, brown rice.0
