Did anyone else make it through Thanksgiving with out cheating? I was super proud of myself i stuck to it. had just a little bit of everything, calculated the best I could, no deserts, and no seconds, and went to the gym before hand. Feeling great about it the day after though.

We had thanksgiving in october. I tracked and still ate dessert, but I eat dessert pretty much every day. Or many times a day. If I had really wanted, I would have eaten at maintenance. Not a big deal. No such thing as cheating.0

That's awesome.0

I planned everything ahead of time. I weighed everything and entered all the recipes here. I saved a portion of a sweet potato for dessert (it was baked with sugar-free maple syrup) after being boiled in its jacket. I also exercised in the morning.
I think I overdid it on the sodium, though. The scale was up this morning.0 -

Was under my calorie goal for the day and ate foods that kept me full, so i'm pretty happy.

I always seem to have a hard time with the sodium, that seems to be a hard one to combat for me.0 -
I was fine until my boyfriend and I decided to indulge in a quart of ice cream. Still, we ate pretty healthy (including the big lunch with my family) so I still didn't end up that much above maintenance.0

I ate my normal calories although I had fewer meals than normal. The questionable item was about 2 tablespoons of my sister's stuffing. But I kept my macros in tact (I eat a higher protein diet to keep me feeling full and also for my weight training). I also worked out after everyone left. I have OCD like that.0

Not me. I ate! Boy did I eat. Ended up the day stuffed like a prom date. Am back to normal today with no regrets.0

I ended up slightly over my maintenance calories. Not a big deal since it was all yummy.0

I was somewhat over my maintenance calories (and felt way too full!), but today I was barely interested in food (this happens to me after large holiday dinners) and made up for it perfectly. Tomorrow is the other side of the family's Thanksgiving. . . eek. I will go for a run in the AM.0

I ate everything, but didn't make myself sick. I'm happy and don't care if I went over! It's one day, it won't make or break you, and I am actually feeling slimmer today!0

define cheating???
I ate about 5500 calories give or take a few hundred and loved every second of it …
OP - is that cheating??????0 -
ok so let me define here..... I was off track for about a week so I made a commitment to stay within my ranges. I on a personal level consider myself to be cheating on my diet plan when I go over on my calories for the day, it's a personal mind frame for me. I have crappy willpower so I was ecstatic with myself for keeping it together on one of the biggest food days of the year, it is a big accomplishment for me.0

I don't believe in "cheating" for myself anymore, had that mentality for years and it only made things worse for me.
However congrats OP for your accomplishments and sticking to your own goals. That's very cool.0 -
I don't use the word cheating when it comes to my nutritional intake, as I'm doing nothing wrong. Incidentally, I had two kinds of pie AND stayed under my caloric allowance.0
