Give yourself a break Mummy! You don't have to do any more exercise. It sounds like you are already running yourself ragged. What you need to do is change the way you eat and/or how much you eat. And get yourself happy! and optimistic!
And you need to get some support from a professional on occasion when you are struggling with feelings of self doubt and negativity. Find a councillor. Or talk to your gp. Don't be down on yourself. You may only need one or two sessions but its such a danger to people to be so down on themselves.
I suspect you lack know-how for dieting. And its a common myth that you need to exercise for weightloss. The fact is you need to exercise for health. And you need to eat less (drink less beer) for weightloss. If you are moving about all day doing the things you described, you are probably have reasonable fitness already.
if you want to be fit, leave it until you feel motivated and or look around your local community for an activity that you can do with other people such as a team sport. I've basically lost all the weight i needed to lose (without exercise) and only recently took up tennis because our local club had some free lessons subsidised by the council. Go and explore what's available in your community and find something you can afford and or get to. I know its harder with a baby. But as far as i'm concerned, the gym is not the answer. If you choose something with a social element and a skill element its more motivating and you also get the support of doing it with others. This is the sort of thing that helps you keep it up in the long term. Dance can be another good option but i found zumba for instance disappointing because it lacked the social element and there was nothing motivational about it. For your exercise of choice to be sustainable in the long term, it needs to have a variety of aspects to it that keep you there.
As for getting your diet in order. Don't drink more than a beer a day. Realise you need to replace the water you normally get from beer and food. So drink more water and or tea/coffee but not fruit juice or bottled drinks or anything with added sugar in it and don't start with a diet coke habit either. And factor the calories in to your total calorie allowance. Don't try to cut your calories severely. You will fail. Personally i prefer a glass of wine for my little relaxation hit and when i started my diet, i could easily afford 250ml of dry white wine a day. As time went on, i cut it back because of the calories. I go for long periods with no wine or alcohol at all but then i always have done. I've never been a beer drinker but you have to find what will work for you.
You can lose 30 kilos quite easily in 4-5 months. Even less and it doesn't have to be painful. I know because i did it. You just have to be smart about it. Focused. Determined.
Make some strategies that help you eat well all the time.
Make some rules that you want to live by and know you can stick to indefinitely.
Log your food in a spreadsheet because then you have an objective way of analysing what you are a doing and a record of what works.
Weigh daily or weekly and log the score in your spreadsheet. DO NOT PANIC about fluctuations. They are normal - caused by a variety of things and do not mean you've put on fat. On the scale its the overall trend that counts.
Refine your diet as you go along.
Work towards a way of eating that you feel good about all the time and which you know is healthy and sustainable.
Read up on nutrition from a variety of sources but be aware that things have changed a bit in recent times. e.g. low fat used to be the go, now that's being debunked. Eating whole food, (not modified and processed food with lots of additives) is the safest way to go.
PS i'm an aussie too but not a mum.0 -
