I went out to the closest prime outlet mall for black friday with my friend just for the hell of it but actually ended up getting a pretty good buy. Nike shocks that support nike + and the nike + sensor (a normal $140.00 setback) for 80 bucks. 80 bucks!! I see it as a christmas present to myself. I don't ever spend that much on something but it was still a great deal.

Basically I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the nike + system and how much they liked it.

  • I have the nike+ for ipod and love it. Have been using it since March. Make sure you follow the instructions for calibration. It is not as accurate as a Garmin but for the price I think it does a great job. I make sure to treat myself every 100 miles. It is great motivation.

Be careful if you want to run with the Nike Shocks, they are not supportive for anyone who over or under-pronates (rolling in or out after heel strike, caused by the sub-talar joint). Have your gait checked out from a running specialist, I suggest looking if there is a "Fleet Feet Sports" in your neck of the woods. Also, a company called "Marware" makes a little pouch that you can use the ipod sensor with any sneaker!! Pretty cool stuff.
