Protein powder isnt for weight loss. That's like asking what the best chicken for weight loss is. Protein powder is just a different form of getting in enough protein for the day. As in "hmmmm, do I feel like some chicken, beef, ham, or powder?"
Once you understand what it's for then choosing the right powder for yourself gets easier. Whey or a different source like egg. (whey for me!) Concentrate? Isolate? Or blend?
I suggest you actually research protein powder, as in use google, and learn more about the different types before you ask for recommendations. Simply because recommendations will mean next to nothing if you have no knowledge to draw from to make an informed choice.
I like the idea of isolates but currently use a blend. 25g P for a 32g scoop which is a decent blend ratio to me.
But all of that is gibberish if you have no base of knowledge of your own.0 -

Exactly this.
If you're looking for a meal replacement sort of protein powder, I would suggest looking into Casein.
I mention it in just about every post I make about protein powders because I find it to be so extremely beneficial in both time, and my meal plan. It is a very slow digesting protein, so it helps you feel full for a longer period of time. I use it daily on my workdays as a form of a quick breakfast that will keep me feeling full until mid-morning, or even lunch at 1-2pm. It works great by itself, but if you throw it in a blender with a banana, and some oats, you'll get a complete, filling breakfast for under 350cals that you can make in under five minutes including the washing time of the blender afterward.
That being said, it is important to note again that the reason this works for weightloss is because it is a low calorie option compared to grabbing McD's on the way to work. Protein powder itself will not cause you to lose weight. It is only helpful in assisting filling out daily protein macros for a very small calorie cost used in conjunction with a meal plan already consisting of a caloric deficit.0 -

I was about to leap in with a 'eat food, not powders!' rant, but your post actually makes a hell of a lot of sense!
Haha! I made sense? Somewhere, something very demonic is searching its bedroom dresser for a sweater, and gloves.

For the last 5 month my dinner was mostly protein powder. It's only about 110kcal plus 50kcal from the milk. It has a great flavour and it makes me feel full. Probably the same result can be reached by eating a piece of meat with paprika or a tomatoe for dinner, something like this.0
