Quitting Cigarettes Hopefully Forever!!!

I haven't had a smoke since 5:30pm yesterday and the only way I've been able to get through so far is every time I get a craving, I do 15 squats and drink 16 oz of water. Drinking so much water will also keep me properly hydrated AND keep me from replacing smoking with eating. And the constant squats are making my legs feel more powerful everytime.

(editing to add backstory to why I quit at 5:30pm yesterday)
I was smoking last night outside while my five year old daughter was playing outside and she came over and asked if people died from smoking cigarettes. I told her yes, and she started crying and said "But I don't want you and daddy to die!" Didn't even have the heart to take another drag. I decided then was when I was going to quit and hopefully for good!

You can do this if you truely want to! I know as I was a long time smoker (36+ years). Every time you try is one time closer to giving them up for good. January 10th will be my 4th year anniversary of quiting. I have to tell you that it was hard but every day that went by it got a bit easier. Now I really wonder why I didn't quit sooner.

Put a picture of your daughter in the pocket where you usually carry your cigarettes and every time you get a craving for one, look at that face and remember why you are quitting.
    Good Luck!

Quitting forever is a big task. Make it easier on yourself: don't smoke today. Deal with tomorrow when it gets here.

Same difference in the end but it has worked for me for going on 6 1/2 years.
