Certain foods to avoid?

I know that you can't target where to lose your fat from, with that being said is there certain foods that tend to store in certain parts of our body? For example, I was once told if you stop drinking soda you'll lose weight in your face because there's so much sugar and sugar tends to bloat/fatten the face. I guess this also falls along the lines of clean eating versus not clean eating.. I've lost 30 pounds not clean eating, but my arms are still gross! So if there is any desperate attempt to target my "problem" areas I'd love to. But yea I know I can't target fat. Thanks in advance for the discussion!

The only foods you should avoid of ones you don't like. Cutting out soda or other foods wont affect where you lose the weight.
If your arms are gross, I would ask if you lift? Below is what each food group can do::
protein - satiety and muscle retention
fats - satiety and helps with absorbing nutrients
carbs - energy
ps - if you reduce carbs though, you can lower the amount of water weight you store as you deplete glycogen, but if you lower carbs, you should increase fats.0 -
I have never heard of eating to target areas of your body. I'm pretty sure you need to lift in order to do that.0

I eat everything I always have, only in moderation. If your arms bother you, start lifting weights to tighten them up.0

Lift heavy. Your calorie deficit will help you lose everywhere, but lifting will help make sure you're losing more fat than lean body mass.0

I haven't been lifting lately, I was under the impression it was only beneficial to start lifting once you lost the weight or near your goal weight. I mean I suppose it wouldn't hurt. My arms have always been bulky anyways from sports when I was younger. It's just getting back to doing it.0

No, lifting will help you retain your muscle while you're losing weight. I only restarted a program three weeks ago and I'm wishing I had done it months ago.0

Alright!! I have no problem lifting. I hate my arms, I'll do anything.0

My friend's mom used to claim that if you ate cheese the fat would go right to your butt.
Of course that's silly, but there are such ideas out there.
Some foods (like salty ones) could cause water retention, which might show up in a particular way, I suppose, but I've never had it so bad my face seemed fatter. Dropping water weight is separate from real weight loss anyway, of course.
Anyhow, it's a shame my friend's mom was wrong, since I quite like cheese and wouldn't mind more fat on my butt.

Hmmmm i can see the soda/face fat thing. I reduced my added sugar intake, switched from regular soda to diet. My face is thinner. That's just because my face is the first place that you can see any real change when i lose weight. I now look OLDER! haha i have crows feet and smile lines that used to be filled in by fat but i'm cool with that. Then i switched from sugar to splenda in my coffee and my boobs began to shrink. That's just because it's the second place to thin out. It's going to be a while before my waist really improves. In the end i will probably have no butt, that always comes back when i walk a lot.0

I walk, I run, it doesn't seem to help. I'm trying squatting with as much weight as I can, and will see how it goes. Should have other benefits, anyway. ;-)0 -
Lifting will help a little...but fat is fat. Gotta keep losing weight and it will eventually come off your arms! I am down 40 pounds and am still waiting on my thighs to lose so I can fit into smaller pants (which is now becoming an issue since the waist is so lose
Keep at it!!!0 -
Only food I avoid is spoiled food. Other than that, I fit whatever I feel like eating in.
Over consumption stores fat. And there's no particular food that stores more fat anywhere on the body.
