...you've gotten a good leg workout...and you can't sit down on the toilet...because your butt hurts...

And sometimes you even need to ask someone to help you get up from it... :#

My favorite is after an intense upper body workout I can't even wash my hair in the shower because I can't lift my arms.

Same here. And after an ab workout...when you're too scared to sneeze...

I just started with pull-ups. Yesterday was my second session on them. Today I'm good with my arms bent and by my side.... no need to move them at all

Today was deadlifts on already tight hamstrings. I may just not move at all tomorrow :), I do however have to get through circuits first

Well that makes sense being you're 101 years old.

Well, I could finish all of the sets...so to me it didn't feel like I overdid it. That was...until the next day.

I did a very heavy leg day last week, then went out with friends the next day. We got to a few steps and while they walked up them, I just stood at the bottom contemplating how I was going to do it. That was a fantastic workout.

Disagree. That tells me I was able to lift more than I did the previous time I did the exercise.

Man- I haven't been that sore in many many moons.

I was sore last year from a calves workout a I did- which I never do- and walking was - ahem- amusing- but having full body lower doms... it's been a min.

    <lesigh>
    I miss being sore.

Had to chuckle at these posts as I too am suffering(in a good way) today as I started a new routine yesterday which was supersets for legs then supersets for shoulders/chest/triceps today. Unfortunately today I had to drive 270 miles and my backside is rather sore! And getting out of the car for a coffee break was.........amusing!

I felt this way too for a while. I just switched my program (which in turn switches itself up every 4 weeks) so for me it's pretty much #livesore which I love!!

I think you're just not going hard enough. If you keep progressing it doesn't really get easier. ;)

I'm still a beginner. I JUST started doing regular push ups I had to work up to them from a wall all the way down. And I can still just barely do ten in a set. So I think any improvement will make me immobile right now.

I usually did 45 squats. Yesterday I decided, well I'll do 60. And just add 10lb just in case....and add some 60 lunges too. Meeeeh....!

I can't do lifting yet because the gym is closed until February. So I'm just trying to do SOMETHING at home. The trainer will probably have to start with a clean bar without any weights for me. Lol

Try some high volume training like dbmata. You will feel the DOMS.

    nope nope nope

I'd rather punch myself in the face with a loaded barbell.

Not me. I lift to improve my performance outside the gym. If it reduces my strength & performance the next day, it's a liability for me, with potentially risky consequences. So i aim for slow, steady progress, which gives less soreness.

Um...I've been doing this for decades...And even though I do strength training until my body will not do any more reps, the most sore I've ever been was after my first weight training session. The body adjusts, and DOMS is not as severe after a while. I still feel it, but it's more achey than crippling (which is good, because I have a life).

I'm still working out as hard as I can. The workouts don't get easier, but everything else does, the DOMs, the motivation, the strength, the speed, the explosion, the flexibility, the confidence, you name it, doing the workouts makes things easier, at least for me. I'm sorry that you aren't experiencing any gains. Keep trying ;)
