Would like to spend about $20/pair.

I've got McDavid's, but I use them as armor against the dl. They are around twenty. They fit snug, but when you are all sweaty, they can be a challenge to remove because of the snug.0

Those seem to be thick so I see the benefit for dead shin protection. Thanks. Was looking for a ligher material but I'd try these if I can find them local0

Not really a stock but a lighter calve sleeve that still provides enough compression to prevent calf cramps during ball. I've tried drinking a ton of liquids, dinner, no dinner etc.. but still happens. So it's down to the shoes or trying these sleeves.0

Low on potassium? Try V8 juice, lots of potassium. Might try supplementing taurine as well.0 -

I don't know. I've tried eating a banana and eating an energy type bar during ball.0 -
I'd wager it's potassium. Try the V8, more potassium than a banana.0

I definitely give it a shot0

IME, increasing salt helps, but to your question...
I've used zoot socks and 2XU sleeves. Both work, but I MUCH prefer the sleeves over the socks. CEP and CW-X also make good stuff, but I'm not sure about their calf sleeves specifically.
They are probably more than $20 MSRP, but look around during the holidays and you might be able to find some deals at local running stores or online for cyber week.0 -
Ive used the Zensah ones. A bit more than $20, but they definitely worked for me (they seem to be on sale on amazon at the moment fyi)0

I use CEP brand calf sleeves. They are about $30.0

Love CEP......also, have you used a stick to massage them post-run?
CEP are a bit more than you'd like to spend, but they'll last longer than the cheapies that can sometimes rip from my fingernails!0
