So I've been pregnant twice and gained about 55 pounds with each kid. The first week you drop about 10 to 20 pounds with water weight ect. So I really had about 35 to lose. I had no problem losing the weight, I watched my calories and ate about 1000 to 1200 each day and exercised every other day burning anywhere from 700 to 1000 calories. I lost all the weight within 3 to 4 months with each kid. And I was very fit and had great muscle definition. I had hernia surgery on my tummy and then started full time school and I gained about 30 pounds in about a year eating out with friends during school and not exercising.

So my question is.... should I just do what works for me because eating all these calories is NOT working lol sometimes it's telling me to eat 2000 calories a day! I lost 13 pounds before I joined this site and have only lost a grand total of 2 pounds in 70 days on this site WTF??

I have always been small and fit my whole life, the only times I've been heavy is during my pregnancys and this past couple years from the surgery and during school.

Anyone have any of the same experiences I've had?

I tried eating the exercise calories back and it didnt work for me. I stagger calories...Mon=1200, tuesday=1500 wednesday i usually have a low calorie day=800-1000 and thrusday=1200, friday=1500....you get my drift. wednesday is my only low calorie day. THIS is what works for ME. I think you have to do what YOUR body responds to. Even if I do eat exercise calories...I dont eat them ALL. GOOD LUCK GAL

Disclaimer: I am no fitness pro.

On the other hand, I gained all of my 15-20 lbs (at 5'1" that's a big deal, as you know) because I was a student, so I know exactly where you are coming from.

What do you have your activity level set at? Since I am a student, I set mine to sedentary since I sit on my bum all day, and then I make sure to log any significant exercise. So far I have been losing a lb. a week without a problem. I don't know what your current job is or how active you are in your daily life, but that might be the key to making the numbers a more accurate goal to strive towards.

Also, look into altering some of your food. It may not be the amount you are eating but rather the kind. Switch to an all-natural peanut butter that doesn't have added sugar or high fructose corn syrup. Make sure your bread isn't made with HFCS either, but natural sugars or honey. Amp up your water intake or monitor your sodium level more closely. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your tips! =) I feel like I just wasted 2 months stuffing my face full of food and mind you it was good foods, protiens veggies and 1 to 2 fruits a day. Wow am I annoyed it's now in the 80's here in Sacramento and I could be close to goal weight lol ok I'm over it! And on to doing what works for me =)
