Students....living at uni vs living at home and effects on weightloss

Hey,
Ive noticed I lose weight easier and faster when Im at home with family in comparison to when Im living at uni.
Even when I just visit home for a short while Ill drop a pound or two!
Anyone else find results like this?
It's strange because I control my diet both at home and at uni (so it's not like my mum cooks for me or anything) but I select healthier options and smaller portions at home without even realising than I do at uni...
can't wait to get home for the xmas period get back on the healthy wagon but this time try and stay on it even when I move back to uni in the new year!

Yh it's deffo been tough this term especially as i have been hating my modules so that is definitely a possibility - maybe I should work on finding something other than naught comfort foods in those situations. - Luckily Im really looking forward to next terms modules0

I use exercise to handle when stress builds up. I know others that do too.0

The stress one is a good point. And alcohol and eating out with friends...
At home we have a better kitchen and I have more time to cook healthy food. But I don't expect to lose weight over christmas0 -
It's the opposite for me! I'm used to being perfectly disciplined at school but at home I feel like I can let loose at eat whatever the heck I want all the time in front of the TV with my sister with zero cares. Since I am just recently out of school I'm having to learn how NOT to do that. Thankfully living on my own helps.0

I commute, and it is incredibly difficult to find decent food at my university. Their so-called "healthy" grab-and-go salads are sometimes over 600kcals and twice my recommended intake of saturated fat. It's become a lot easier for me to bring my own stuff to college.
Surprisingly, I've noticed that different periods of the semester affect my eating. I am always starving during weeks where there isn't much going on in my classes, and it's difficult for me to stay within my calorie goals. Now that I am cramming for my finals (my first one is tonight), I'm having issues trying to eat enough calories.0
