Sick of hearing about my age!

Every single time someone sees or hears my age I hear "You're such a baby!" I'm so sick of hearing that! I think it's worse because I'm married or something. I get that I'm 19 okay. I know when I was born. Also, why assume that I have kids just because I got married young?! Some people....

I'm 27 and people still tell me that. "What do you mean you're 27 and have 3 children?! You must have started REALLY young." Not not really. I was 20 when I had my first and I was married.

Wouldn't it be awesome if you knew what people were going to say before they said it so you could have some snappy comeback ready?

Awww I know how you feel, I got married at 19, people still look at me funny when I tell them I have 4 kids and that my oldest is almost 12... It will pass but for now seriously enjoy it!

I understand, I do! I got married at 17 . . . and yes I had a child. People judged my parenting based on my age as well. But I just had to learn to ignore it. Because in a crowded restaurant/event my child was always better behaved than the older parents in the room. LOL

I got married at 18, 2 weeks after I graduated from high school. I heard it, and STILL hear it to this day and I'm 22 now! It really makes their eyes pop out of their head when they find out I have a 2 1/2 year old! I don't hear it as often as I used to but some people just can't help but state their opinion. Have fun being young! We only get to be "young" for so long! :D

It's not like they say it when they look at me. I've never been carded for stuff that requires you to be 18. Most people think I'm a lot older than I am. It's not a looks thing it's an actual age thing.

You're 19! You're just a baby yet! Ok sorry, I couldn't resist. To my defense though at my age I still consider my kids babies and they're 36 and 24. Oh to be 19 again.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who got married young! We're not planning in having kids for at least 5 years though :)

ENJOY it! It goes by in a blink.

One minute I was sitting there listening to Jimi Hendrix live ...and the next minute I was 60! LOL!

I use to get bothered by people thinking I was so much younger than I was, I was well into my 20's and got carded for the MOVIES. Now things like that rarely happen, I do hear I don't look old enough to have a 20 year old son, and I was told I look 20 years younger after I lost 40 pounds. I know it's frustrating, but try not to put much thought or emotion into things like that, they really are very meaningless.

Unfortunately, people pass judgement on anyone and everyone for equally lame reasons. Just let it roll off your back and keep on keepin' on. Be happy. That's really the best thing you can do :)

I can totally relate! I got married the day after my 18th Birthday. I had two kids by the time I was 19. People always assumed that I was older than what I was, until I made the mistake of divulging my actual age. Then, I would get, "you're just a baby!" Now, I'm in my 40's, and still I hear, "you're just a baby!" Reeeaallly?...... I sure thought that once I got past 40, that crap would stop! Yes, it is VERY annoying when you're young, but the reality is that it can be awfully flattering once you get older. Just take it in stride, and don't let it get too you. Just know that one day, you will be able to say that to someone and piss them off!! LOL

Wow, I'm 19 and I could never imagine be married right now....or for the next 7or 8 years for that matter! Bahahah you're so much more mature than me. I still think of myself as a kid with a lot more to learn about the world and the way it works, except when my mom tells me I have to be home at 10pm, then I'm an adult :P.

I"m glad you have it figured out for yourself though :)

    I assumed you were 91. .
  • I'm going to be 30 in 2 weeks but I get told all the time I don't even look close to that...which is awesome. My husband was 19 when we got married(I was 23, yup, I robbed the cradle) and it wasn't because we had kids or were about to have one...we actually didn't until last year, when we adopted our son. Anyway, just shrug it off hun, you are an adult and eventually people will learn to treat you like one!
