Yesterday I ran my second 5K ever. My first was in the beginning of April & I finished at 39:04. My goal for that one was just not to walk & I didnt. Yesterday, my goal was to take 2 minutes off of that time and finish at 37:00, but I hadnt trained anywhere like I wanted to & was doubtful I could do it.

I admit, I had to stop and speed walk once for about 30 seconds bc we were running against CrAzY winds & I couldnt breath with them blowing in my mouth! As I was finishing, there was a small underpass we had to run down with a small hill up to the top. I looked down at my watch and saw it would be possible to finish at 35:00, I decided to start sprinting at the top of the hill as fast as my tired legs could carry me for the last 30-40 yards and I finished at 34:35! Four and a half minutes off my first time! I felt like I was going to puke when I walked off the race path, but I breathed through it and the pain was only temporary, but my high from finishing so well lasted awhile!

Awesome! I am participating in my first 5K next Saturday. Looking forward to it. I am giving myself permission to walk though, as I'm not yet ready to run one yet.
