Protein Goals

A very quick question. I've just noticed that my MFP a protien goal changes on a more or less daily basis. I'm guessing that it goes up if you've burnt a lot of calories.
Am I tight?

Gah. Bloody iPhone. I meant am I right?0

Yes, your protein goal is a percentage of your total calories, so when that changes, your protein changes.0

That makes sense. I wasn't sure if it was an arbitrary x g of protien per lb or kg of body weight.0

The protein per LEAN body mass isn't actually arbitrary: it is based on science!
The trick is calculating your LBM when you aren't part of a science lab.0 -
I can see that protein per unit lean body mass is scientific (but there's a lot of pseudo science associated with diet and exercise - that's why I like to ask stupid questions to separate the wheat from the chaff).0

So am I right in thinking you can:
A. Calculate protein requirements from lean body mass; or
B. Calculate is as a proportion of total energy expenditure?
I'm guessing that the higher value from A or B is the one to go with?0
