I bought a new pair of saucony's about 6 weeks ago before I learned that I need to have a whole different kind of shoe for Zumba. Plus I have feet trouble as well, the ball of my foot goes to sleep after about 20 min. The Saucony's that I got do not have a large enough toe box area.
So . . . I want to know what shoes you are wearing.
Thanks so much in advance.

I have the same problem with Zumba and my feet going to sleep too. I have a pair of New Balance True Balance shoes and they are superb!!!!! Great for everything and super comfy. Good luck with your search for the perfect zumba shoe. I used to do it in my chuck taylors coz they were flat and had grip so I didn't slip on the polished floors at the hall we did it in. Happy dancing!:happy:0

I have a pair of New Balance that are very low around the ankles. I was having trouble with the higher sneakers rubbing against my ankles when twisting. My instructer recommends sneakers with circular treads to make it easier when doing turns.0

I've been exercising barefoot for a while -- my cousin told me that I should be wearing shoes for Zumba. I have cross-trainers, which don't quite work well. Wondering what others wear as well.0 -

I have KSwiss Tubes (Jillian Michaels' shoes) and they work really well for Zumba.0

I'm barefoot all the way! I slip on the carpet in socks and the rubber soles of my cross trainers and running shoes stick and don't allow me to slide at all. I've thought about trying the shoes for Zumba but my husband was an avid runner back in the day and he said if it's safe to do so, barefoot is best. Our bodies are designed to be barefoot. Man made "supports" can actually cause problems where you didn't have them before. Barefoot is best in my book but if someone can give me a good argument, I'll weight my options. Right now, I don't have any other options.0

I have Brooks running shoes that I wear and they are fine but a little too grippy sometimes. I have a friend that does it barefoot but I think it's kind of gross (although I'm barefoot for yoga so I don't know what the difference is). What you need really is a shoe with a smoother sole for turns and pivots.0
