Hi there, I would say that whenever you must have fast food, get a grilled chicken sandwich without mayo or a salad with light or fat free dressing. Or, I always go to the restaurant's website if I know in advance that I'm getting it, and check out the nutritional info. I love Wendy's small chili, Subway is always a good choice. And I love Chickfila if you have those in your area.
Good luck!!0 -
When I am in a restaurant or social situation where healthy food is unavailable, I take 1/2 portions. I figure out what I would consider a serving and I take 1/2 that much. Also don't waste any calories on drinks. Everyone has water, or diet soda.0

Go to the grocery store if convient for you, get some fresh fruit or a sandwhich from the deli. If you are dinning out, grilled items are a good choice and you can hold the bun. Water is definetly the way to go, ask for a lemon with it. Check the content of items, Soda especially Diet Soda may contain aspertame and it isnt something good for us to have in our body.0

I get the regular kids meal when I have to go for fast food. It's smaller portions and half of the problem of fast food is those extra large fries and soda! Also- ask for diet coke. It's not healthy but it's doable every now and then.0

Study up on the nutrition info on restaurants out there. I find that if I eat 300 cals or so including protien, it will keep me full. Thats 2 tacos fresco style or 1 hamburger plain, or most of the 6 under 6 subs at subway, or an egg white omlette, or grilled chick sand no mayo, and so on! I also keep luna bars on hand (in my purse) and i eat 1/2 or 1 to hold me over.
Also, skim milk is filling and full or protien and readily available.0
