5'8" men, before/after?

Hey, I'm 5'8" male, currently sitting around 256lbs (down from 275). Working my way down but wanted to get an idea of how I might look at some various weights under 200 pounds. I'm 'big boned' so I don't have aspirations towards the 160's, but feel like 180-190 would be a pretty good weight for me. Anyway, curious if any other dudes in the same height range would mind sharing so I can get an idea.

Big Boned or not I think you are underestimating how much weight you would need to lose to look ripped. I'm 6'0" and I weigh 165 and am planning on losing a little more fat before I start to bulk up. At 180-190 unless you are solid muscle you will still look a little chunky most likely.0

I'm 5'8", and at 165 I looked pretty ripped! Problem is, I haven't seen 165 in almost 25 years! Sorry I can't help with the before/after as I'm still a before (255 down from 285). Good luck to you!0

Thanks guys. I'm not setting any limits, we'll see how it goes of course. I did a ketogenic program a few years ago and got down to 195 before falling off the wagon, and I looked pretty good, but I'm sure there was still lots of flab there. Onward and upward!0

My husband is your height and is between 280-285. He's been trying to eat better, gave up soda, and is using the elliptical for 20 min. several times per week for over a month now. However he hasn't lost any weight.
I've brought up calorie counting to him, but he's not interested. Any ideas how I can help him to get the weight starting to fall off?0 -
Are you sure you are big boned? One of the better ways to see are to check things wrists and ankles. I know they have charts online that will tell you what kind of frame you have based on that. Anyway I am just a little bit taller then you 5'11 so maybe my pics might help.
I went from 300ish to 260, 240, 220, 190, 1700 -
I'm 5'10", have dropped from 279 to 174. I need to drop another another 10 lbs and reduce my BF% a bit more before i'll be able to declare myself ripped. You might consider starting your question as a separate thread, so as not to confuse the two topics. That said, if my own experience - as well as that of many posters - is anything to go by, he won't lose the weight until he wants to lose the weight. There's not much you can do or say to get him to do it. His motivation needs to come from within.

I don't have pics but I'm about 5'8". I've been wearing a suit lately that was tailored about 5 years ago when I was 190lbs. At 170lbs now, the pants are at least 1 size too big and the jacket is tight around the chest/shoulders.0

Great transformation there!. I've ended up at 76kg and that's just about right for me, to be honest I didn't really feel much difference until the last stone came off.

I'm 5'8". First image was going from 235 down to 185. Second, was after 3 months of weight training with Stronglift 5x5 (only a 3 lb difference in weight). I've been bulking for the last 3 months and back up to about 191-192. Start another cut after the new year and shooting for around 175lbs ultimately.
