Just a little venting...

So Thursday and Friday were both days that I went over my calories, and today was my official "back on track don't touch that pie" day. I planned out my day last night and planned to have Subway for dinner. I figured in the footlong sub, the chips, and the Light Minute Maid lemonade.

When I got to Subway I ordered my sub and went through the process of getting my toppings and everything...she was at the last step where they put on the sauces and spices, and I told her I wanted vinegar and oregano only. There was another girl who seemed in a hurry to cash me out, so I told her what I had ordered and paid her while the other girl finished my sub. I drove to church and unwrapped my sub in the church cafe to find it DRENCHED in oil. The sub was only in the car for about 40 minutes during the drive to church, but in that time the oil saturated the wrapping of my sub and the roll...disgusting. I tried to pull off the soggiest parts of my roll and pick off the lettuce that was on the top where most of the oil was, but I know I still ate a lot of oil, and therefore a lot of calories...I was hungry and didn't have enough time to get something else once I realized the mistake and am too cheap to have bought a replacement dinner anyway...

I also got the Minute Maid Lemonade...it didn't appear to be the light kind, but I figured, hey I still have like 300 calories left for the day...how many calories can lemonade be? I'm sure I'll have enough...yeah turns out that cup of lemonade was 330 calories...and the oil was at least 90...that puts me OVER my calories by 120 today. No it's not a lot, but it's just aggravating that I planned everything out to the last detail to make sure i was not over my calories today and it happened anyway...

Okay that feels better to get that out...thanks for listening.

I hate that about Subway...they totally slather the sauce on! It's like, ew, I want a sub, not SOUP. I always tell them to put the tiniest imaginable amount of sauce on and end up with about 2 tbsp LOL. I like to get the light mayo because it's easy to scrape off, or the sweet onion sauce cause it's so tasty.
  • The sauces of subway are evil.
I have now offically switched to only getting mustard, but every once and a while I ask for ranch dressing, but I always ask "just for a little bit, about a tablespoon or so." And then they drench the sub for you, you know they squeeze in in a nice fat line down the sub...twice!
Not only is it unhealthy, I don't like not being to taste anything else by ranch dressing. I get really mad when I try to eat healthy at subway and the ruin it with the sauce!
  • I'm sure you'll be ok tomorrow! :flowerforyou:

Hi Laura! I have gotten to the point that when ordering food like that, I watch what they do. I made them throw away a roll once because she put oil on it.

The other thing you can do is ask for it dry, and order a side container of just vinegar. The sandwich is better this way if you have to eat it later, too.

I have worked in enough place to know I am not the MOST annoying customer they will have that day!!

I usually do watch them at Subway...but the girl made me feel like I had to pay RIGHT THEN...and I figured...I've never had too much vinegar...but NO oil...ewww lol.

And I used to work at Subway, so I know that when a customer refuses a sub because you made it wrong or whatever, the employees can eat it because Subway writes it off as damaged goods anyway...I learned quickly not to make it so gross that I wouldn't eat it if it didn't end up walking out the door with a customer...

Oh well...I'm back on track today...even though I showed a gain on the scale this morning...and this week won't be great either because I am taking my birthday trip to the spa and will be eating restaurant food the whole time I'm gone...but you only turn 25 once, so I'm allowing myself the splurge and banking on the fact that upping my calories for a few days will shock my system into shedding a bunch of pounds the following week

25!! Happy Birthday!!! The spa is a great idea, pamper yourself!!

I worked with a girl who would 'mess up' a sandwich so she could have lunch.

I am so proud of your can do attitude!!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Haha yes I'll be 25 on Saturday...so I am going away for a 3 day trip by myself...I went in March when my divorce went through (I seriously needing pampering after all the stress of that) and decided I'd make it an annual birthday tradition for myself...this spa is awesome and I get to spend the whole day there getting pampered...then of course I go out to eat and stay at a hotel by myself...and will be visiting TWO malls...wooohoo! I go into total princess mode on my birthday, so it'll be good to be around people who will play into that and treat me like the princess I know I am

I have lost all this weight since I was last there, and last time I ALMOST fit into their robe, but wasn't comfortable with the way it gapped so I wore my own...I'm bringing mine just in case, but I am REALLY hoping I can wear their robe...and hopefully that pesky oil that girl put on my sub won't keep me from squeezing into it lol

I've gotten to the point where I don't let them put any sauce on my sub. I get jalepeno peppers on it, and I can't tell that there's no sauces.
