How to lose weight during the school year?

I need help losing weight/fat during the school year and gaining muscle. It is hard due to all my classes, coming home late, and tons of homework. An answer would be well appreciated.

You lose weight during the school year the same way you lose weight not during the school year… A caloric deficit.

Here is my life. I am 47 years old. I work full time. I do not drive so I walk to one store and have to take the bus 20 min. to the other store. I still have to do my errands. I have to help my mom. I have to do house stuff.
So a Wed or Fri
Up at 6:15 to get ready for work
8am- leave for work
9 to 6:30 or 7:30 pm work
wait for a bus
get off bus and walk 20 min home (by Choice some nightst)
Or go to the gym and work out for an hour
Home
Make lunch for next day. Repack gym bag
Bed
The other days depending on my work schedule I either do gym before or after work.
I have managed to lose 25 pounds since October.
It is about scheduling and making you as important as school

I was at school doing honors biology - a pretty intense program. I joined the gym on campus and managed to go during the school day 3 times a weeks for a bit during the time when I had a free period.

This makes me nostalgic for a time when I only had one thing (school) to juggle in my life. And I had holidays from said school. I'm going to be quietly weeping in my cubicle...

Umm...noooo! Haha. As much as I enjoyed being a (college, NOT high school) student, that part of my life is over. I'll settle for my cubicle!
I'm just glad my college life is either over in a semester or over in 2 years, depending on whether I go to grad school or not .WOOO. At least in high school I didn't need to put in effort to get a good grade0 -
all you need is 30-60 minutes a day to lose weight and build muscle. i'm sure you can find time in your schedule. if not, sleep faster.0

Eat less.
I remember back being in college, I didn't have my parents paying for everything so I had work and loans. I didn't eat a good meal very often back then, it was easy to maintain weight, hell, even lost a bit.0 -

Eat less, move more. Same as during the summer. I work full time and am in grad school. I wake up at 5am and workout a few times a week after work. School cant end so late that you cant find time to exercise.0

It depends on the program to me. As someone who went to undergrad , then headed into the real world as a store manager and then went back to law school. Ill take the "real world" and undergrad any day rather than law school. But anyway as they say its up to you to make it a priority. I try to make it the first thing I do either in the morning before class or as soon as I'm done with classes, yes before you start homework (It actually helps me to do my homework better). Also I make sure to put in twice the effort when were on break from school.0

I'm a current student (last year of honours math). Losing weight during the school year is not really anything special - you still have to eat, so you might as well eat right (for your goals). I fit my workouts in in the evening when I need a break from assignments and studying, or if I'm getting really frustrated with a problem. I exercise at home to cut out the commuting time, but that might not be feasible if you want to be lifting really heavy.0

Can't build muscle while losing weight. One requires a calorie deficit while the other requires a calorie surplus. Regardless a lifting routine should be part of your workout program.0

while this is correct, it should be stated that most beginner lifters can get significantly stronger when they start a lifting program. many can lift and gain strength while at a slight deficit for up to a year. basically doing a body recomp.0 -

What I do think there are a lot of, on this site, are people who seem to be unable to take the information that is relevant and leave the rest without imbuing it all with personal slights.

The quickest I ever lost weight was during my last semester of college. My only exercise was walking between classes. My diet was something like a bowl of cereal for breakfast, a salad for dinner, and a bowl of soup for supper. I estimated that my calorie intake was 1500, but I'm pretty sure it was lower than that.0
