200+ Pounds to LOSE; Anyone else in the same arena?

My name is Steven and live in OKC and have been ridiculously unhealthy my entire life and largely out of balance with the scale since high school (10 years ago), so I have landed my wide frame here to lose 10 years of mindless eating in an effort to add 10+ years to my lifespan, to be a good example to my future children, to look good next to my smoking hot bride to be (melschaben, give her a shout ;) ) next October, and to show the world, and mostly myself, that fat isn't forever.

My dad was as big as I was and was diagnosed with diabetes some years back and made lifestyle changes that got him in shape and healthy, in which he has become my inspiration that this can be done. I don't have diabetes (yet) and am digging the trenches to put up a fight to make sure I don't.

I struggle with pizza, ranch dressing, fast food, and cheese. Off the wall list, I know, but those four categories are what I need to learn to manage to make this happen.

I am a huge fan of Hockey, Star Wars (Empire Forever), and sports in general (SJ Sharks, ATL Braves, Sacramento Kings, and GB Packers are where it's at). I love being outside playing sports, exploring new areas, and love photography. I will listen to any sort of music, and am naturally laid back and always looking for good, sarcastic, funny people to connect with. If anything appeals to you from the above, feel free to connect.

Happy Holidays, Friends!

I am proud of you for taking the first steps to healthy lifestyle! 4 years ago I lost 80 lbs for my wedding and did so well but then got off track and here I am again trying to lose 50 lbs myself. You can do this and this site definitely works! Get those lbs off so that you can be next to your smoking hot bride and be able to enjoy those future kids of yours! :)

Hi, I also come from big family and the most important thing was always food.
I come from Poland - which left people with hedonic hunger after 2 world wars and we all eat as much as we can because - as my grandma said- we might not have food again.
I am proud of you that you want to change. You can do it. I changed my life 100%. It is doable. You just have to convince your mind and figure out what you need vs want or rather are used to not want.
    You can do it !!!

there is a healthy substitution for everything.

While I don't have as much to lose I'm a huge Sharks fan. You can do it!
