Good Afternoon all.

This forum seems like a perfect place to meet and get inspired by similar minded people. I'm not here too loose weight but I am here because I would like to install and maintain a much healthier lifestyle.
I gave up smoking 43 days ago and have started running 3 times a week ( well I did start running until I pushed myself too hard and ended up with an injury to both ankles!) so have had to rest up for three weeks!! Have just got back from a half hour run/walk and everything seems to be fine, so am going to start over and this time do it properly.

I turned 40 recently and decided it's about time i looked after this slowly maturing body after 25 years of abusing it (was great fun though

Thanks sabine, there are no health 'goals' as such but I am set on improving my lifestyle and becoming as fit as possible. I'm pretty sure that as I improve things will open up to me and then I will see goals that I would like to set.

Thanks for the positivity bmm, but I must point out that I am not unhappy with the way I am or uncomfortable with my body. I have just decided to make my lifestyle a lot more healthy, I have quit smoking, knocked out a huge lump of the sugar in my diet and taken to running several times a week. I have a physically demanding job and for years all I did was go out and party with my mates (no drugs) but plenty of booze and a terrible diet to match. When I turned forty I just thought enough is enough, time to grow up a bit (I am still gonna go out and stuff) but was just planning on having a healthier lifestyle to compensate it.
