It's been a couple years since I used this app. I am ready to lose 25lbs in order to feel better. It is nice to see such a positive community.

Id spend the rest of the year planning and learning, so that you can hit next year properly.

Learn how it works, how to develop a good plan you can work with and the common factors that successful dieters have. Good luck its pretty straightforward.

Welcome! User for almost 3 years. I lost almost 40 lbs from my first pregnancy, now I'm using it to stay fit throughout my second. It really works if you are committed, and stick with it!

This is the best time of year to get started! Congratulations. You will feel so fabulous o:) if you can stear yourself away from the dessert table and take little portions of lean protein (turkey, shrimp, cold cuts) and the ubiquitous celery stalks, again and again.

That's what I did yesterday; in the end I sneaked a fresh strawberry from the top of a cheesecake slice... Someone saw me and tsk-tsked about my "stealing". So I asked her if she'd rather I take the whole piece, enjoy the strawberry and throw the rest in the trash. "No", she said, "let me take the rest of the piece". :D -

Wouldn't you know it, when I returned to my table I realized that the woman sitting next to me had brought the cheesecake. I explained that I eat glutenfree, and she was very understanding - she is a vegan and won't eat dairy! It started a nice conversation that ended with our adventures in South America (me), South Africa and Zaire (her).

May all your celebration be that interesting, and help you with your goal! I lost almost 20 of the 25 that I wanted to lose. MFP is a major motivator.

I lost my first 25lbs over the holiday season last year. I had the mentality that I just didn't want to gain anymore. It comes down to you and your choices.
