Today is my 23rd date since I started going to the gym and (sort of) started eating better. By eating better, I mean I've been watching my calorie intake.
I just want people to write some little things that help keep you motivated. Whether it's going a bit further on the treadmill, resisting a certain food etc. It's nice to see what helps other people and hopefully it'll keep me going too!
So, I'll start:
What keeps me going: Being able to go for longer on the cross trainer. I'm a smoker (bad I know, but I'm hoping to give up soon...) and when I started I would do around 5 minutes at a fairly intense incline and resistance, get absolutely shattered by the 6th minute and then give up at around 8 minutes in. 23 days later and I can now last for 20 minutes at different intervals without getting all puffed out. Seeing the difference in my limits really does motivate me to do more.
Oh and there's some amazing people to look at in the gym. From the incredibly attractive to the incredibly strange!

Food keeps me going, really. I love to try new recipes and try to make everything i love fit into my calorie and macro budget - it's a challenge for me.
Also, on the smoking part - I quit smoking, sort of. I used to smoke at least a pack a day - now i vape. It smells better and costs much less. Probably not better for health, who knows. But if you haven't tried vaping, google it0 -
I quit smoking last year after reading Allen Carr's "Easy Way to Quit Smoking". I recommend it though take his writing style with a grain of salt. After quitting I gained some pounds, but when I started weight loss it made the results really fantastic because I was noticing increased lung capacity as well as shedding pounds. I was able to do more and more in my workouts and it was a really great experience. Best of luck to you with the weight loss and the quitting!
Also, like harlequin said, cooking really keeps me motivated - I'm always on the lookout for low calorie recipes that taste good and fill me up. When I can eat something delicious and filling for like 300 calories I feel really optimistic about the whole process. Plus it makes my house smell good.0 -
My parents, because I know if I stop I'll end up with diabetes and other health issues before I'm 50 like them0

Realizing how hard it was to help load feed and hay two years ago compared to now. I'm always thrilled when my husband tells everyone, "No, REALLY. She can handle it." when they shoo me to the side so they can pick things up.0
