Why Australians rock

As an Aussie living in NZ, I was catching up on the news today and read about a horrible hostage situation in Sydney. A gunman has had an ongoing siege in the Lindt cafe with 15-30 people held hostage inside. The situation is ongoing but while we all hold our breath and hope for the safety of everyone held hostage and the police involved (and the capture of the criminal involved) something amazing has happened. Never thought I'd promote a hashtag but this is worth it. Check out #illridewithyou on Twitter/Google etc. Because at the end of the day, if an entire country decides to unite against racist, intolerant behaviour then we're one step closer to getting rid of it. Thought the global MFP population might appreciate the sentiment too.x

Sad update, whilst the siege is now over, two hostages were killed. There aren't anymore reliable facts at the moment. It's an awful thing to happen in such a beautiful place
