Why discourage people? Because YOU are scared?

It really disgusts me when someone is saying that they want to start working out, going to the gym, getting in shape etc. And someone is so quick to say "Oh you don't need to do that" "You don't need to lose any weight" First off health & fitness is all about being skinny. It's for overall health. Why would you try to discourage someone from making a healthy lifestyle change & improving their quality of life? I want to say to them Is it because you are too afraid to do what they are doing & you want to hold them back too? Actually I will say that next time.

Sounds like you have a game plan. Thanks for the heads up.

Not that I'm skinny or anything, but judging by your picture, you've experienced the opposite of 'fat discrimination'. (Yes, it is judging and its wrong.) Nobody ever thought to invite me to play volleyball when I was 260 lbs. Would you think that a fatty could play volleyball? They probably see you just the way I'm seeing your photo - what's a tiny little thing like her wanna lose weight for? But you are absolutely right, it isn't about being skinny. Its about being healthy.

To the majority of people healthy = skinny. I often wonder if I should consider them "unenligtened"? Meaning, their interpretation of healthy is wrong. So you have two options: change your pitch (I'm working out to get more muscle tone) or blow it off. Those types of people really aren't worth wasting the time on anyway.
