Hey guys
I'm just started to get back into things but I actually injured my upper back pretty badly two weeks ago and still waiting to get x-rays next week. I'm not overweight, but definitely need to tone up and lose maybe 10-15 lbs for me to feel more confident and healthy again. I've been on and off MFP since 2011 but I think I really need to hone down and focus.
My main problem is working out because I do get bored very easily. Does anyone know any good dancing/aerobic type DVDs I could do? Right now with my back I can't really do Jillian Michaels or anything really strenuous. I hate running and get bored so easily. I danced majority of my life (tap, hiphop, ballet, pointe, lyrical) so I really love doing that sort of thing. I did do Carmen Electra's Fit to Strip cardio workouts for awhile (not the actual stripping ones lol) but they're a little too easy but still fun. Just need some suggestions! Thanks!

A lot of people like Turbo Fire and Zumba. I have not used the DVDs, so I can't recommend specific titles. I do love my live Zumba classes.

I really like Christi Taylor's videos. They are pretty dancey and have fun music. My favorite one is Totally Hot Cardio. It's old, though, so you might think it is old fashioned.

Go to collagevideo.com and check out the reviews.

Zumba is really fun, but I would suggest not trying it until you've discussed it with the doctor treating your back injury to be sure it won't exacerbate the problem.

Tai Chi? Would be completely different than what your use to, and wouldn't mess up your back more.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! The only one I've done by all your suggestions is Zumba at my old gym a few times a week...might look into the others too!

Carmen's is like over 10 years old so dated fitness videos don't bother me! lol

I have a bunch of the "dance off the inches" videos. there's all sorts of different types. I like the sizzling salsa, country line dance party, ballroom, cardio striptease, and hip hop party. there are a few more out there that I want to get, but, one thing at a time. :)

I got started back in 2011 with Shaun T's Rockin Body from BeachBody. It's not high impact and even with those videos there is a modifier. The last workout is the only one where you get on the floor at all and the music is pretty fun.

Probably wouldn't do the last one because of my back, but I'll look into it!

I've just signed up for a fun site called Dance with Madhuri. The founder is Madhuri Dixit - she was a goregous leading lady in Bollywood for a long time and is renowned as one of the industry's premier dancers. It's free to sign up and the lessons also seem to be free at the moment. I'm not if you have to pay as they get harder as yet because I'm still only on the first couple of videos of one dance. The only annoying thing is it's a bit hard to follow her verbal instructions as we view her from the front but she gives directions as though we are behind her and not mirroring. I find it impossible to dance in opposite direction to a video. If you can overcome that by either dancing in other direction or quickly swapping left for right (and vice-versa) with her verbal directions, the quality of the instruction is good.

Thanks! I'll definitely check it out
