Holiday Party

Here is what I ate:
Shrimp (Baby), 1 oz cooked (84g) with Shrimp Cocktail Sauce, 4 tsp (5g)
Salami Thin Slice, 2 slices & Cream cheese - Plain, 1 tbsp
Wild Alaskan Smoked Salmon, 1 oz
Green Beans - Fresh - Steamed, 1/2 cup cooked with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 0.75 tsp
Brussel Sprouts - Steamed, 0.13 cup
Guinness Chocolate Cake, 1 piece
Pumpkin Chiffon Pie Filling, 1/6 cup with Cream - Light whipping (whipped), 1 tbsp
Fort Knox Milk Chocolate Gold Coin, 1 coin
Lindt/lindor - White Chocolate Ball, 1 ball
Prosecco Sparkling Wine, 3 oz
Total: ~660 calories, maybe a bit more, if I forgot something. The party was at work and there were lots of small portion dishes available, some in little plastic cups. I stuck to protein and veggies, and then hit the dessert table. Earlier in the day, I made sure to eat my normal breakfast and lunch, so I wouldn't be starving and then eat like crazy.
When I started out to lose weight, ~7 months ago, I was terrified of eating out. Now it's much easier thanks to the experience that tracking gives and knowing what works for me and what doesn't. I stayed away from the humus and pita chips and had desserts instead. I wanted a beer but when someone offered a wine glass of Prosecco, I went for that instead.
I'm happy, it went well. You can do it too!!! I posted this mainly for newbies to not be afraid of being derailed by holiday events.

Guinness Chocolate Cake sounds devine. I would have tried it too.
I'm glad it went well for you.0 -
The Guinness Chocolate Cake was the best! A mild Guiness taste, not overwhelming.0
