Post-Depo\Water retention question

Hi!
I got off depo about 5 months ago after having a extremely hard time losing weight. I managed to lose the extra pounds after a lot of hard work but my stomach didn't budge. I suspect it is severe water retention or some kind of bloating and not fat because i weigh 115 and still have a large belly,28 inch waist but before i went on depo i weighed 120-125 and had a flat stomach\22 inch waist. Does this make sense?
Did anyone else have this problem? How long after getting off it does the water retention stop?

    I don't know if I have a great answer for you. But I was on depo several years ago and had many side affects that came on gradually like weight gain, and even joint pain (in my early 20s!!). I finally decided it had to be because of the shot. I don't remember how long exactly, but I know it took a long time to go away. I never tackled the weight issue at the time. But it took many months for the joint pains to go away.
