Okay so recently I have been trying to lose weight. Over a course of five months I’ve lost about 69 pounds. I was focused on losing my belly fat which I succeeded in doing (thank god). But now when I look at myself in the mirror I’ve noticed that I sadly have huge thighs and big calves. When I’m standing up I can barely grab any thigh fat but when I sit down they expanded to twice the original size. My calves are also really big. I also jog everyday for about five miles. I was wondering if my thighs are fat. I’m 5’7 I weigh 124 pounds and the measurement of my thigh is 18.5 inches is that bad? Like is it slim or fat.

18.5" thighs?? That is NOT fat. Good god.

ETA: You are a 24 year old male, 5'7" and 124lbs? You do not need to lose weight. Eat and lift weights.
  • i have image problems... just want slimmer thighs

Then try another therapist. Your mind is not seeing yourself properly. That is something to work on in therapy, not on a diet.

men should not want to fit into skinny jeans. they should be struggling to find jeans to contain their thighs.

Man or woman, that is just not healthy.

Dude, seriously? It would be ridiculous for any of us to tell you a way to get your already dangerously thin figure thinner.

SO that means that you have a problem. You need to focus on the problem, not getting smaller thighs or calves. Your problem seems to be how you see yourself, and THAT is what needs fixing. NOT your body. Listen to the therapists and maybe do what they say...try it out. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by really putting your all into your therapy.

You really should be listening to these people and focusing on their advice instead of what you think you're seeing when you look at yourself. You barely weigh more than my 12 year old son. Focus on getting yourself well, not on finding more ways to remain unwell.

  • i don't think they forcing me to eat is healthy either, especially things im not interested in.
  • super skinny jeans are actually very comfortable. its what i wear to work.

If they are forcing you to eat then it's sounds like you are in grave danger. You need their help not ours.

Nobody here is going to tell you how to lose weight when you're already underweight. This is a health and fitness forum.

The only thing I could suggest is learning how to accept your body the way it is. It's not easy, but it's possible.

OP, I don't think anyone here will give you the kind of help you want. Only the kind you need.

    OK

SO lets just say you want to fit into the skinny jeans. Fine. I can fit skinny jeans as a woman with 16" calves. That has nothing to do whatsoever with the issue here. You are not seeing yourself as others do. You have a perception issue that only therapy that you are WILLING to do is going to help.

Find another therapist if this one isn't working on your body image issues with you.

Here is my advice to you:

    -- Listen to your therapists.
-- Step away from fitness sites for a while.
-- Find some nutritious food that you do enjoy, and eat it.
-- Pick out some weight-lifting exercises that can help you build some muscle in your legs. Maybe find a personal trainer to help you out with it.

Losing weight is not going to help you. You're already underweight. But adding muscle definition could help you feel better about the overall look of your body. Even very thin people can look/feel fat if they're flabby. Toning up will tighten the area.

But above all else, *listen* to your doctors. They want what's best for you. And they'll have better guidance than any random person on the internet.

The relaxed thigh muscles spread out to the sides when you sit down. This happens with all humans and is normal. :)

If you are seeing multiple therapists who know your history and have been in the hospital for your issues, why would you think a bunch of random strangers on the internet who have no understanding of the complexity of your issues are going to be able to help you?

Please be your own advocate for your health and well being. Get off this site, deal with yourself in real life with the help of people who know you and your personal history.

Put some muscle on! Guys aren't meant to be scrawny. You want to look like a man, not a 14 year old girl :s

OP does not want advice. OP wants validation and/or attention.
