Hi all! I have recently started working out at the gym on the Arc trainer. Has anyone experienced good results from the Arc trainer?

  • I love it, it's so fun and easier on the joints.....so, if you like it, go for it! I usually use the arc for cross training from running, but it's been a good & loyal friend for me!

Its the most popular cardio machine at my gym. People seem to love it. I use it here and there to mix it up from running, but I find I feel the burn in my leg muscles long before my heart rate gets where I want it to be. Thats just me though. I've never heard anyone else say that and I see some people work up a serious sweat on that.

I hate the arc trainer, b/c it is a serious cardio workout (or can be). My husband always uses it when he needs to lose a few lbs. Works well for him. I've found that I burn more calories on it in the same amount of time in the treadmill.

I LOVE the Arc trainer. It is easier on my knees. I cannot tolerate the elliptical but love the Arc. Go figure.

Thanks everyone. Im liking the arc trainer. Its not the most popular machine in my gym though. The treadmill and elliptical is. Actually yesterday i was the only one in the gym on it
  • I love the machine, I drip with sweat and I huff and puff. For some reason, this site does not let me log it.

I was pretty disappointed I couldn't log my time on here from the arc trainer. I was wondering how accurately the arc trainer measures calories. I'm willing to bet not too awful accurate as it didn't even ask my weight when it said I was burning X amount. Either way, I like it. I used it for the first time yesterday for a serious session and I have to say, I sweat WAY more on that than I ever do the treadmill or elliptical.

Thankfully the arc trainer I use at Planet fitness ask my weight, so hopefully it is close to accurate. The good thing about it is that I don't eat back 100 percent of my exercise calories anyway, so I should be safe. I have been enjoying this machine and love the different programs I can set it to.

Okay I have been using the Arc trainer for several weeks now. I love it!!! My legs are starting to look more toned. So strange that the machine is not popular at my gym (planet fitness). Most times im the only one using the machine.

Probably the most used piece of cardio equipment at the gym. Everyone seems to love it.

I like it. I usually use manual and set the resistance between 40-45 or I use the 3rd program (hill training I think) of level 8.
