Hi there!

I've been on / off MFP a couple of times over the years (sadly, as I read through posts, this happens to a lot of us - and I'm no exception).

As we begin a New Year, I've been reflecting over 2014. It wasn't a weight-friendly year for me.

2015 is a few days away and my mind set and motivation is changing! If you are in the same 'boat', please feel free to add me or send me a friend request. I will do my best to provide you with encouragement and motivation. I have also commited to tracking daily.

And, for all of you, 'seasoned MFPers', please feel free to send me some advice. What continues to motivate you? How do you stay on track? What was your turning point that led you to continue a healthy lifestyle, and of course, favorite recipes / snacks that keep you on target!

Next week, I'll be tracking my food (don't judge) and then Monday, Jan 5th, I will start the first day of my healthier lifestyle!

Goals:
- Limit soda / sweet tea to 1 small cup daily
- Lose 5% BW by end of Feb / beginning of Mar (~10lbs)
- Lose 10% BW by end of Apr / beginning of May
- Introduce exercise in baby steps (walking, eliptical, etc.)
- Limit carbs
- Lose 40ish lbs by EOY (to reach on-target BMI)

Best,
Cynthia

Focus more on calories opposed to carbs. Carbs are your friend :)
  • To reduce soda intake, try a low sodium club soda and squirt some mio into it! It also helps me to get motivated by doing crunches before i leave my bedroom. Even if you can only do five..puts you in the right mind set, gets your metabolism going. Drink water before breakfast and always have breakfast within 30mins of rising.
