Where to start?

I'm pretty overweight and out of shape. I can't run around the block. I've thought about yoga but it's hard to do the poses and breathe. I like to take long walks but I get out of breath easily and it's difficult for my ankles. What are some basic ways to start? Things that aren't too strenuous at first, just to get my into a schedule and slowly start to build up my endurance. Any advice or suggestions?

Walking is a good start. If it's hurting your ankles, have you tried limiting your walk times? You can always make them a bit longer when you get used to your initial times and work your way further from there.

When I started out, I was 16 lbs less that your current stats (according to your profile), same height. I danced with my kiddo in my living room with the music cranked. Any activity is good. Just figure out what you enjoy first and foremost and start there.

Walking is a good place to start. Maybe see how long you walk before your ankles start to hurt and make that your goal time for future walks. Increase your time by 5 or 10 minutes every few weeks until you're stronger. You can do this.

I think a great beginning walk/cardio work out is Leslie Sans one walk away the pounds. You can check it out for free on you tube and it can easily be done in your living room.
