Hello! I'm looking forward to joining what seems to be like a great community of people looking to achieve similar goals. I have never tried to journal/log my food before, so I'm excited to see how it turns out.

I am currently 270, shooting for 180. I have been in this pattern before where I was 260, and reached 180 by intense running and an unhealthy diet (too few calories, fat grams, protein, etc). I ended up running a full 26.2 mile marathon once I got down to my goal weight. Due to my unrealistic diet, extreme work outs, having a child who was born and stayed in the hospital for the first two months of her life, and studying for my stock broker exams, all at the same time, I of course gained it all back (yes that was a very long run on sentence).

I'm looking to lose my weight at a more normal rate this time with a healthier diet. I am open to friends on here and support groups for accountability. Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone!

I was in the same boat. I was 240 eight years ago and got down to 176. I let myself get up to nearly 290. Right now I'm down to 264 hoping to get to around 195. We have similar goals...add me for support if you want! Good luck!

You came to the right place! I have been on MFP since 3/31/11 and have found the people to be extremely caring and supportive. Welcome and best of luck on your weightloss/health journey! Feel free to add me too, if you like.
