I think it's finally time to stop breastfeeding my little dude. He just turned 16 months...I've heard mixed experiences after quitting breastfeeding, as far as weight loss is concerned. Some people have said they didn't experience any weight loss until after they quit BFing, while others said they had to work extra hard to lose weight after quitting BFing.
It would seem to me, since you're not buring extra calories producing milk that it would be a little harder to lose weight, since you don't have that little extra calorie burn help anymore. What was your experience like after you quit nursing?

I personally felt better losing weight after quitting. I thought it was a fine balance while breast feeding to eat enough to keep supply up but low enough to lose weight. I lost some, but ended up gaining it back. After I quit breast feeding I don't feel that pressure of needing to eat enough to feed my son. Now I can focus on me.
Good luck!0
