This is perfect timing as I definitely need some accountability and motivation to be better to myself again. Was doing well the first part of last year until fall then . . . we all know the story. Feeling yucky so need to get back on track. At least I didn't regain it all again.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people on here are setting big weight loss goals, some between 10 to 20 pounds for the month of January. I just want to ask if you’re being realistic with yourself? I understand that if you’re very large you’ll lose weight quicker or if you’ve just begun you weight loss trek, you’ll drop a lot of weight in the first few weeks. Different people lose at different speeds. However, something to remember is there are only 4 weeks in January so even if you lost 2 pounds a week, that’s only 8 pounds for the month. I’m not trying to be a naysayer, I want everyone to meet or exceed their goals. I just hate to see people set themselves up for disappointment because they were unable to achieve their goal. I've done it before and it sucks.

I have gained back almost all of the weight I was able to lose in a 2 year span, changed jobs in June and just haven't been able to get my motivation back to where it needs to be, maybe having some accountability will help :)

I'm in! Returning MFP member after regaining all the weight I lost 2 years ago (wish I could blame it on 'baby weight', but the baby is now 19 months - that's all me!). I got a Jawbone Up24 band for Christmas which I already love - anyone else here using one?

Count me in. I managed to hit Onderland the middle of December but with the holiday food, snacking and not getting enough water down I have edged back over 200. So I want to get back into Onderland all the way down to at least 190.

I don't know about everybody else, but my goal (13 lbs) is below my monthly average (15 lbs). Since I'm pretty satisfied with my loss rate and I understand as time goes by it tends to slow down, I'm choosing something that is satisfying, possible and not too stressful to do. I think everybody should find that middle ground as well
