Handling New Years Eve

Hi all,
This is more of a rant than a question. We're going out for NYE and tomorrow for New Year's day. Tonight is a super swank fixed menu place with drink pairings and a top-notch menu. Well I looked at the menu today and tried to calculate it, rounded about 600 calories for booze (yes there will be heavy drinking tonight) and I came out at 2300 calories for the day, which is well over my limit even after I've done my workout today.
Tomorrow is going to likely be near the same, as I won't have time to workout and the whole day is snacks, mac and cheese, sandwiches, and other sport-watching foods. And a lot of booze.
Is anyone else just sort of flying free for the holiday? I feel very guilty starting my year like this, but it's a very special occasion as we never do foodie social things like this.
I do want to add that I made the choice to maintain between Thanksgiving and Christmas and I did just that, and I'm very proud of that. I know in my mind that two days is not going to ruin me forever, but SO MANY PEOPLE always talk about "cheat days" and all this other stuff, and a lot of times those people end up falling off the wagon hard. I'm having more of an emotional fear than an intellectual one. I'm just looking for some motivation I guess.
Since my ticker's gone, I'll add that my starting weight was 250lbs in April 2014 and it is now 195lbs, give or take a pound. My ultimate goal is 150lbs with a bonus round for 140lbs.
Thank you all.

Ok. First of all: calm down! Take a deeeeep breath and focus.
Second of all, I know you said it's a fixed menu and there will be drink pairings. Correct me if I'm wrong but I feel as though the menu will be fairly small. I only say this because at least once a month or so one of the restaurants I frequent has a wine dinner where the wines are paired with specific meals. It's a 5 or 6 course dinner however the portions are small and I don't typically eat all the food. Sometimes I'll drink all the wine but other times I might take a few sips and wait for the next round. What I'm saying is you don't have to eat all the meals that go with the alcohol nor do you have to drink all of the alcohol that go with the meal.
As for New Years Day, it sounds like you're going some place that is going to have more snack-like foods which is fine. You can choose some of the sandwiches and other finger-type foods (I'm assuming there will be some of those?). And as for the booze: don't drink as much as you normally would. It kind of sounds like you are like my husband and I. If we go some place where there is drinking we feel the need to have something in our hands and it inevitably ends up being booze. If that is you then you can have some booze then switch over to water or some other non-alcoholic beverage.
If in the end though you do partake and indulge in the food and beverages I wouldn't worry too much over it. Just pick up on Friday, drink a lot of water and get yourself back on track. One night isn't going to cause you to lose all the gains you've made.
I know full well that I am going to over imbibe tonight -- and possibly tomorrow -- and I'm ok with that. I over imbibed at the Christmas holiday but it didn't derail me.

Yeah if the portions are smaller I'll be okay. I tried to guesstimate for smaller plates, because I figure that's what this will be too. As for the alcohol, I know myself enough to know that I'll have some, and enjoy it, and have more, and before you know I'm tipsy and happy, but then I make really bad decisions. Usually more wine.
I've embraced what I'm going to do over the next 24 hours, and I accept that even though I'm trying to diet I still need to live my life. In my mind, I've accepted that anyway. I just need to tell my emotions 'Yes, we're going crazy tonight and that is OK!'
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful post though.
