I have good muscle tone, but I have loose skin on my arms, stomach, and inner thighs. What will work, besides surgery, to tighten up loose skin? I do cardio and weight training 5-6 times a week. Thanks!

  • As I am losing weight and working out, I put on Palmers Cocoa Butter. I put it on after every shower (twice per day) and before each workout. I have lost about 35 pounds and I have no loose skin so far. Everything has gotten tighter. I have about 15 pounds to go.

Thanks, David. I will check that out. Bobbie
  • I agree Palmers is great. the best thing that I know of for loose skin is to do a variety type of work outs through out the week, so you are working different muscles, and not the same ones all of the time.

Bobbie, maybe try some yoga or self defense to mix in with the weights and cardio.

Stay hydrated and use a good moisturizer and time. I just read an article on this regarding the biggest loser contestants and last years winner, Ali, said she consulted a surgeon about the skin and he told her to wait at least one year, preferably two for the skin to do as much "catching up" before considering surgery.

Unfortunately, some loose skin can not be avoided due to the normal aging process and staying hydrated and moisturizing and staying as in fit a shape as possible are your only true combatants.

Thanks, Nichole. I think my skin has just lost its elasticity with all of the ups and downs of my weight over the years. I will make sure to try all suggestions. The cocoa butter, hydration, good diet and exercise! Perhaps I can make it a little better yet. I'm not into spending all of the money on surgery - not to mention the pain and recuperation time!

what they all said is true...just wanna add some extra information...ermmm...if your skin lost its elasticity, you can try drinking milk that has been added with collagen...theres plenty of brand out there...it may not have an immediate result, as injecting collagen, but its such safer rite..???it done wonders to me...:flowerforyou:

I know that I didn't start this thread, but thanks for all of the input. I have been overweight for about 6 years and the scars are not pretty.

Thanks. I have not heard of that before. Can you get this milk at a regular grocery store?
