I took it and lost 55 pounds. I slept fine, had lots of energy and didn't overeat. I loved it. I don't recommend it for a long time but it can work if used correctly.

I forgot to add. This has been 4 years ago and I haven't gained any of it back.

I took it twice in the past and never took it longer than two weeks either time. My left shoulder started hurting the first time, and my heart was constantly racing. It made me uncomfortable, so I stopped taking it. Years later I wanted to lose weight again and, honestly, wanted an "easy fix", so I had my doctor prescribe it again. Same thing-- my heart constantly raced and palpitated, and my left shoulder started hurting (left shoulder/heart--not good). Scared me again, so I quit taking it. I probably lost a few pounds while taking it for a couple of weeks. I had absolutely no appetite and felt jittery, so I suppose that "helped" with weight loss... I continued eating well and exercising after stopping the pills and then followed up with my doctor at my regularly scheduled appointment a couple of months later. He was very impressed with my progress on the Phentermine... then I informed him that I hadn't taken it in months.

Like many people mentioned, sure, it's a decent tool to help curb your appetite and give you energy, which ultimately leads to weight loss. But you can also lose the weight with proper diet and exercise and self control without any of these possible side effects. And, as also mentioned, when you stop the Phentermine you will still have to figure out how to control your eating and this is where many people end up gaining the weight back. You don't learn new habits on Phentermine; it does things for you.

I say just take the time to do things right, without the drug. it might take a little longer to lose the weight than it would on the pills, but it will ultimately be better for you in the long run.

Well for me I lost 45-50 pounds on my own before I was given the phentermine. So I learned my habits and control before and was in the "right mind" to use the rx. That was a stipulation from my Dr. He was NOT going to just give it to me and not put in any work before hand. Like we all know it is SUPER hard to lose weight and be on point 100 everyday. For me I have over 100 pounds to lose. So this journey is a long process for me. I am being totally honest here, come summer I fell off a bit, I started to feel confident and was happy with my progress, But I still had a LONG way to go. I changed my behavior about 85 %- There still was that little bit that was going back to the old ways. I did not want to fall into that same regime over again. So I went back to the DR and asked for help- He agreed to let me try this. I am back on point with my eating and workouts and not craving for things that was my downfall. Sugar, Soda, I still have that stuff but I can keep in control. For me I just needed a little boost to push on...and like I said I still stuck with my behavior I learned from before, I was just slipping a little. I am using it as a push to keep going. LIke everyone said it is NOT a magic pill and you still have to work out and eat the right things. For me it just helps me NOT over eat and think about food and push on. When it is time for the RX to go away I beleive that I now have the control to move on with out it again. I am hoping to get to my goal weight in 6 mo and of corse I will still have to be on point. This losing weight this is the hardest thing I have had to do in my life. I do think you have to be in the right mind frame to use this drug. You are not going to be able to take it and think nothing is going to come back once you stop. I am determined to make this work with the help of my Dr and me!

If so how long did it take you and how much did you excerisice? and what did you eat?

The bolded is the key to losing. Change diet with "logging your food and staying within your calorie goal", and you're golden.

I took this drug for a couple months and it was just ok. I felt like i was on drugs because i was on drugs. Phentermine is just legal speed. Which was fine with me i like drugs. (See where this is going?)
Anyway i stopped taking is because it made me angry and emotional, especially if i drank coffee, which I also love.
I lost 4 pounds. Yay. When i stopped taking it, there wasn't enough food in the world for me to eat. I was SOOOOO HUNGRY!
This isn't even a side effect with street drugs, so eff Phentermine.
Since i stopped, i gained back my weight and have had to relearn my good eating habits.
Also, because the pills made me high basically, i had no desire to exercise while taking it.

OP: I think if you want a quick boost in metabolism to recover from hcg while learning how to properly eat, try out the pills for a very short time at a very low dose. You've basically been starving yourself. Your body may freak out. Or don't and just work at eating/exercising properly. 40lbs isn't tragic. Maybe get into a eating & exercising support group. Make a plan. Get off the drugs.
