I used a fitbit 'One' which you can clip into your bra, I've found it very handy.

It won't be very accurate on your ankle. The bra strap advise is spot on.

Most nurses I know are required to wear watches with a second hand... Are you perhaps in the OR?

I personally would not wear it on my ankle. I would opt for one of the devices that don't need to be worn on your wrist. I am considering one of these because my fitbit flex picks up cpr as steps, which can be frustrating.

No I work on the wards and we are not allowed anything below elbow, I have a fob watch with a second hand etc. What is the fitbit called which can be attached to the bra so I can search for it online? Thanks for all your replies.
