Went way Over

I went on a chicken strips and ice cream binge yesterday, resulting in going 725 calories over. I'm really worried about the effect this is going to have on my weight loss this week. I've logged my breakfast, lunch, and dinner for today already and I still have 575 calories left over. I'm also planning on exercising to the tune of about 300 calories burned (we'll see). I usually eat back my exercise calories. Should I try and make up for yesterday's failure with today's calories? Should I just not eat back my exercise calories for the next couple workouts and try and make up over a few days? I want to make sure I'm not doing anything unhealthy trying to fix this.

i am thinking about doing the same thing.. darn ice cream (the devil). I was debating whether to do it or just forget about it and it is a fresh start today? The reason being is I think it is going to make us crave again and do it over again. Lotsa people have their day off so I might just try having a a GREEN 100 calories for the next week. (not too harsh and can still keep me on track a little)

I wouldn't freak out too much, it was one bad day. There are people on here who advise taking a day off and eating whatever you want to keep your metabolism strong. I don't really believe that theory. But, a bad day isn't going to ruin everything you've done. Just move on from it and continue your week as you normally would. And for the record... on exercise calories I usually eat back half of them. I like having some extra room for calories in there, but I don't think eating them all back is necessary unless I'm REALLY hungry that day! Good luck!

I think depends on your bottom line on calories....since you are set to 1200 perday, if you cut back severely, it's not good for you - leave you lagging in energy....

I'd just take it in stride, start fresh and exercise and yeah eat back your cals. Drink lots of water.

I know it feels crappy when we do this but, life has ups and downs of all kinds. Just know it is behind you :)

Haha I'm always really hungry! And on Saturday I had like 300 calories left over (lots of yard work all day). So maybe I should just forget about it. I'm just anxious about bikini season, but in Michigan who knows when that's gonna be lol

If i were you, id take a little bit from each day for the next week.. say, a hundred or so. That should make up for i. Dont starve yourself on any one day because of a mistake like that!

Yeah i wouldnt worry too much about it if you are donig a lot of extra work on other days... like she said, lets put the past behind us.. If it is going to eat at you, just do what i did and just have 100 under for a few days... that isn't too much and isn't going to starve you or be rough on your body i dont think. :) I am also anxious because my Florida vacation is in 29 days :)

I am by no means an expert but I wouldn't...
I don't know what your deficit is but it's possible 725 only pushed you up to a "maintenance" level. If so, I wouldn't worry about it and would continue on like normal. But that's just me.

Thanks! sometimes i can curb it with a jell-0 mousse temptations... but sometimes i find it is just easier to have it than eat other things to stop the craving and still crave itt.. Ice cream is my only weakness really....i love it once a week if i can

700 calories is 1/5 of a lb. I wouldn't worry too much. Just get back on track. Instead of worrying about weight, you should consider what made you feel the need to binge and how it made you feel, and how you can afford that behavior in the future.

I agree about not worrying about it...
Give an extra 5 to 10 minutes on your cardio if for no other reason then your own peace of mind, but when I'd have those weeks where I messed up one day, I was often surprised to lose MORE that week - as if the slip up surprised my body and made it think it could burn more...
