So I'm wondering.....has anyone heard of the Blue Ridge Marathon aka "America's Toughest Road Marathon"?

I invite runners to check this out. It's my hometown and excited that its gained the title of toughest road marathon.

Http://www.blueridgemarathon.com. Make sure to check out the video on this page, pretty good idea of what you're getting into!
In 2013 the course will include 3,620 feet of elevation gain and 7,234 feet of elevation change.

April 20, 2013 in Roanoke, Virginia

It's a full/half/5 person relay/walking half and kids YMCA marathon

Gearjunkie.com has a review of his race. (He finished 37th with a time of 3 hours 57 minutes)

So are you up for the challenge?

Nope... I just want to finish my 26.2 miles without having "the toughest" attached to it :)
  • Dear walkwithme1, are you still in the Roanoke area, and walking? I just got a fitness tracker that works with Myfitnesspal and I am struggling to make it all work together. I am a retired woman so have a flexible schedule and do some mall walking at Valley View. Are you interested in meeting up?
