Yep. Wait, under 1200 calories?0

I'm not sure I would suggest keeping under 1200 calories, but I drink all the time and as long as I'm within my recommended calories, I lose weight at a steady rate. Good luck.0

1200 is the lowest calorie intake anyone should have, why do you want to stay under it? You can drink and loose weight but some alcoholic drinks have quite a few calories in them, you would need to log them the same as anything else.0

in short yes. However it can affect that way your body burns fat. So I don't and wouldn't drink within a couple hours of a workout while your metabolism is still pumped. lots of articles out there if you google 'alcohol reduces your body's ability' if you want to go that far0

Some fruity drinks have like 600 + calories in them, so technically yes but if you're only consuming 1,200 or less that eats up a huge portion of your daily allotment in a drink. Your profile page says you have 58 lbs to go . . . so you're in a range where your weight loss may be quicker if you're just starting out (and I say this because it says 0 lbs lost) and I wouldn't suggest 1200 calories, especially if you enjoy drinking/it's a big part of your life. For me, I can't drink too many of my calories so my alcoholic drinks have to be low calorie . . . I want to eat my calories, not drink them. But maybe that's just me.
If you're just starting out and you've been over eating, which we've all done to get us here, your body could be used to eating, let's say for argument's sake, 3,500 calories/day. If you cut cold turkey to < 1,200 you will see a big drop at first but then your body will learn to run efficiently on those 1,200 calories so you're not in as big of a deficit any more and your loss will slow, or maybe even stop. Then you'll need to create that same large deficit but only eating 1,200 or less than that a day doesn't give you much room for creating a bigger deficit and then things become tricky. The thing that worked for me - which helped me lose 70 lbs so far - is to cut slowly. So if you were eating 3,500/day then cut at first to like 2,500 (net) and then 2,000 (net) and so on. This helped me. I'm not saying it's the end all be all, but just some food for thought.
Further, if you're drinking a cocktail it could be like 1/4 - 1/2 of those 1,200 calories and you'd have to be super, super, super careful for the remainder of the day as to what you ate.

Not under 1200.
I just read this in Huff Post today: "Dr Michelle May, who teaches mindful eating, warns that unless medically supervised you shouldn't cut calories below 1,200 per day or struggle to get enough nutrients to fuel your activities and satisfy your hunger."0
