i have been using 1kg-3kg weights in cardio but im looking to start actual lifting weights at the end of my cardio sessions. i dont know where to start? any advice? weight level?

    Hi. There is a great weight training program called New Rules of Lifting for women. It comes as a book and there are lots of threads about it on MFP. It uses a small number of lifts but they use lots of muscles at one time (eg squats, dead lifts etc). You start with the weight you can manage - I started with two 10kg dumbells for the squats. Another popular program is called 5x5 strong lifts (again, lots of threads on MFP). Good luck with the lifting.
  • I started New Rules loved it.... I didn't eat as much as they suggest but with in the 1st month lots of visible changes. Good Luck
