So after watching shows like Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones. My hubby and I are having a really hard time getting into any other shows. We don't have cable or sat but do hulu, netflix and online shows. Everything we have tried watching just seems so corny now. I liked Dexter, Hell on Wheels, Vikings, loved Breaking Bad. Loved Rome and the Tudors. I loved Mad men, but hubby hated it. Tried Doctor Who, stopped after they got rid of Rose. I did like The Leftovers and Intruders. Love the Big Bang Theory and Deadwood. Shows I couldn't get into: The Strain, The Bridge, Arrow, Californication, Sons of Anarchy, The Last Ship. They just seemed like they were trying to hard.
I'll watch any pilot once. If it needs a little time to develop, I can muddle through too.

I started watching "How to Get Away with Murder." It's a show you have to pay attention to because it flips from present to past and back again. Keeps you on your toes. I'm only on episode 6. There are nine online. First 5 are on hulu. I've marked the rest on youtube. hehehe.

My husband recommends "The Killing" - which is on Netflix.

I like both of those and American Horror Story.

Since you have Netflix, you can try their shows - Orange is The New Black, House of Cards, I've heard Marco Polo is good (but I haven't dug into that yet). Walking Dead, Castle are two of my other favorites. I watch too much TV. =/

My Netflix suggestions - if you have streaming. Sherlock, Copper, Bletchley Circle - for British series. I liked Grand Hotel, but it is in Spanish, with subtitles.- but kind of a spanish Downton Abbey. For movies, I'd suggest Kinky Boots, The story of Luke, Silver Linings Playbook and Defiance. Anyone have any Comedy suggestions?

Comedy: "Identity Thief", with Melissa Mccarthy. That show was hilarious. Although, I was not impressed with many gags on her weight...

If Carnivale is still on Netflix, give that a try. It tracks with a lot of the shows listed in the OP (I like to think of it as Deadwood meets Supernatural).

Broadchurch (Netflix) reminds me of a murder mystery done in Leftovers style--it looks at the impact of a murder and its investigation on the town, not just the step-by-step solving the case, making you sit through and feel the emotions of witnesses deemed unsuitable, victim's relatives, the impact on innocent suspects.

Also in British, Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror!

Orphan Black is on Amazon Prime only, I think. It's about a group of women who discover that they are clones, the product of an illegal experiment--and someone is trying to kill them all. It is fun, insane, and *superbly* acted.

The only recent comedy I've gotten into is Community (on Hulu Plus right now). If you've never watched Scrubs or Friends, you should.

Awesome, thanks for the ideas. We were watching new shows by picking a random letter then a random number to correlate with a show on different web show pages, it made for some really interesting show choices lol. Gonna check out How to get away with murder. I did like the Killing to start with but then it just started getting too drawn out, I think they should have just killed a new person every season. I've never heard of Warehouse 13, looks interesting. And just started Season 3 of American Horror Story. We are waiting for more episodes of Orange is the New Black, and we flew through Marco Polo in like 3 days. I thought it was well done for Netflix. I liked the first several seasons of Walking Dead till they started getting all weird. That series kinda drives me crazy because I am a total prepper at heart. I scream at the TV the whole time I am watching it. I will check out Castle. The hubby doesn't really like lawyer type show much but I do. I forgot about Sherlock, seems to have a little cult following. Copper looks good and I haven't heard of Bletchley Circle till now. Carnivale, Broadchurch, Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror sound interesting. The hubby hated Orphan Black by the 2nd episode lol. I can tolerate a little off acting but he cant. I also can to sub titles but he hates them. Spanish would be good for me too for practice because I am trying to lean it. Thanks so much guys, lots of really great stuff to keep busy with now

Marco Polo is pretty good, i love under the dome that's pretty gripping, The walking deads good but it gets boring as the seasons go on.
