Does anyone else use a garmin Vivofit? I got mine about two weeks ago and I love it. But I don't have any friends who use one.

I used one for a few weeks and liked it a lot, especially its accuracy and battery life. The red bar was a good reminder! I ended up replacing it with a Microsoft Band though since I didn't want to wear two wrist devices and wanted the other functionality.

I have one and I really love it, had it since Setember as an early Birthday present and I really love mine. The red bar is amazing for prompting me to move more (although less so when I have so much revision to do)

I have a love hate relationship with mine. Mostly, I've had a lot of issues with it and MFP since I got it. The MFP stuff seems to be fixed now.

Now I'm having issues with Garmin Connect. When looking at the dashboard (on PC), I can see my steps have synced. When I go to my summary however, it hasn't updated since 9 this morning. This leaves me with a negative adjustment until it decides to update. It's now past midnight and yesterday's information is still off. Which leaves me wondering if I ate enough or too much. *sigh* Example of the new issue:
    60yibztbxsve.jpg
    1. Steps match my VivoFit
    2. Distance is way off for the number of steps
    3. Calories....way off...apparently my total calorie burn for the day is 745 which is less than my BMR
    4. During my 2 workouts, I had 4766 steps.
    5. Daily Steps....missing information. There should be around 4000 steps here to account for the steps I took outside of working out. Also the time stops at 9 hours instead of 24.
    6. The total steps here don't even make sense. Even with no Daily Steps, it should at least have a total of 4766.
    7. The total Active Calories doesn't make sense. Even with 0 from daily steps, it should say 496 from my workouts.
    8. Distance doesn't add up either. Should say 2.62.

It did this for Jan 2nd as well. It corrected itself around 6am, but that leaves me guessing until then. Because of this issue, my Garmin Adjustment on MFP hasn't been updated since 9 am and won't be updated again until 6 am when Garmin Connect fixes my information. :grumble:

Shadow2soul-I'm having problems with mine syncing too. When I first started GC would only sync to mfp if I did it manually on the website not the app. Then it worked for a couple of days, and now I have mfp picking up my steps and things from GC but am unable to sync what ever way with mfp from GC. They are apparently working on it all but that has also been happening for about a month

I have the Vivosmart, which I do like. Sure, the syncing with MFP is a bit iffy, but it's not like I really need the syncing.

Got mine in September 2014 and really like it. Syncing was great in the beginning but now I am having sporadic issues. I also have an issue with steps being off when I go shopping sometimes they count an other times they don't. All in all the facts that I don't have to take it off due to waterproofing, the tracking of sleep as well as steps and the red bar is effective for me makes this a great and well used birthday gift.

I got a Garmin Vivosmart yesterday! I am looking for friends. All of my friends use the fitbit but I wanted to keep my heart rate strap like my Polar

You have to go into the Garmin Connect site and adjust your pace I.e. how many steps it takes to walk a predetermined distance. The longer the distance the more accurate your measurement will be but for ease measure 100 yards and walk it three times counting your steps, then divide it by three this will be your pace. Also, Garmin updates its software a lot which if your out of sync with your OS it will cause issues with your info syncing up.
Good luck I hope that helps.
BTW add me if you'd like, my username is dwfalls67.

I'll just get straight to the point.
I've had my vivosmart for about a week now and I'd like some connections through it so that I can have some friendly competition/motivation. My user name for vivosmart is tessacb, send me a request if interested.

I have a Garmin 920 watch which also counts steps using same tech as vivo range.

The Garmin connect calorie numbers are all over the place. I am getting calorie adjustments sometimes 2-300 more than I should, mainly when I also create a non steps activity in Garmin connect. I have emailed both Garmin and MFP about this countless times but its like talking to an automated brick wall.

    See my issue here:

    https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?189131-Inconsistency-with-Active-Calories-on-the-Reports-section

If this stuff worked properly it would be ace, as it is the whole thing is a headache in terms of figuring out accurate calorie burn for MFP purposes.
