Workout Plan Help

I need help in developing a resistance work out plan to burn more fat and increase lean muscle....What do I do? I am not using free weights yet, just the machines at the gym. I will add free weights in 4 weeks.
I am sticking to my cardio plan as is for another 4-6 weeks. 50 Minutes of Elliptical training at level 14 and add 1 minute daily to the stair climber (I am at now 9 minutes) until I can do 20 minutes.
Any Suggestions? My diary is up to date.

The cardio takes up about 20 minutes per day, 3 days a week. The strength training is about 45-55 minutes, also 3 days a week. 1 day of rest.0 -

Why not free weights? I'd say those offer far more benefits than machines. They incorporate more muscles because you don't have anything mechanical acting as counterbalance. Even if you start off light, I'd go with free weights. Whatever you do, include compound movements such as bench, squats, deadlifts, and pullups.0
